Mark scheme language: say what the examiner needs to see
The difference between "it goes up" and "the rate increases" can be a mark. Between "healthy diet" and "reduced sugar intake" — a mark. AQA mark schemes name the exact words that score: (allow …) lists the alternatives examiners may credit, do not accept … names the answers that score nothing, and examiner reports tell you afterwards which popular phrasings were "too vague" or "insufficient".
